This panel will explore how islands can harness space technology and applications to drive economic sustainability and resilience, aligning with key UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By embracing satellite-based solutions, remote sensing, and space-enabled data, island economies can improve energy self-sufficiency through renewable energy initiatives (SDG 7), enhance climate resilience with climate monitoring tools (SDG 13), and promote the conservation of marine ecosystems with advanced ocean observation technologies (SDG 14).
