Jodi is an extremely driven serial entrepreneur, having co-founded an engineering company at the young age of 22 and years later selling the business. Having completed an MBO before the pandemic, Jodi has been providing investment and M&A advice for decades and she is now the CEO of London-based, quality FCA-regulated corporate finance advisory business Citicourt & Co Limited, and is a space sector and earth environment sustainability specialist. Jodi was an early member of the largest small-caps AIM broker in London. She is a Freeman of the City of London and Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Information Technologies.
Tobias Marchant is the International Partnership Manager for Space South Central.
With 15 years of recruitment experience and joining the Cluster from Serco Space Services Europe, he will be responsible for fostering strong relationships and international partnerships.
Aiming to form strategic collaboration to help grow the Space sector in the South Coast (Surrey & Hampshire), Toby will liaise within the region with local businesses (start-ups, SME’s and Primes) and government bodies. Toby will also work internationally with Universities, private companies, investment funds and national bodies to help promote international alliances, knowledge exchange, research and trade.
Toby’s expertise lies in his comprehensive knowledge of the global space industry and his keen understanding of key growth areas for the UK, EMEA, Australia, and America. With a focus on addressing skills challenges face by companies that can limit potential growth, he has helped businesses with scale up strategy and long-term growth plans and how to take their business to the next phase. He is dedicated to advancing the industry’s capabilities.
Arianna is the Project Manager at Island Innovation, leading global initiatives that drive innovation and sustainable development in island communities, including coordinating the Caribbean Climate Justice Leader’s Academy. As Head UK Youth Delegate to COP28, Arianna represented youth perspectives, engaging with international stakeholders to influence climate policies, champion the inclusion of youth voices in global climate dialogues, and advocate for vulnerable communities facing climate challenges.
Marlene is a master’s student in the EAGLE program at the University of Würzburg, specializing in applied Earth observation. Her work focuses on UAV-based environmental monitoring, including setting up and implementing drone-based mangrove surveys for an NGO in Seychelles and conducting phenology assessments in Kruger National Park. Beyond UAV applications, she utilizes satellite remote sensing to analyze land surface changes and ecosystem processes. She also gained experience in urban analysis while working as a student research assistant at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), where she used satellite and geospatial data to support research on urban planning. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Geography from the University of Würzburg, specializing in remote sensing and physical geography.
Anna is an Earth observation scientist with a background in environmental sciences, UAV-based environmental monitoring, and geospatial data analysis. Currently pursuing an MSc in Applied Earth Observation and Geoanalysis (EAGLE) at Julius Maximilians-University Würzburg, she has worked on projects ranging from developing a UAV monitoring system with Nature Seychelles to analyzing savanna vegetation phenology in Kruger National Park. She has also contributed to research at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and Julius-Maximilians-University Würzburg, focusing on geospatial data processing and machine learning applications.
Beyond research, Anna is passionate about science communication and gender equity in STEM. She has led Python workshops, organized environmental initiatives, and actively works to support and encourage women in science and technology through advocacy and outreach
David is the Director of Enterprise Services at NV5 Geospatial. He has worked in the data analytics software business for over 25 years, including over 17 years in image analysis and exploitation and most recently the automation of image analytics in the cloud.
Fergus Craig is the UK Sales Manager for NV5, a leading provider of remote sensing solutions and geospatial services. At NV5, Fergus has been pivotal in promoting the company’s advanced remote sensing technologies, including ENVI, a powerful image analysis software.
In addition to his role at NV5, Fergus serves as the Co-chair of the Association for Geographic Information (AGI), where he advocates for the effective use of geographic information across various sectors. His leadership in the geospatial community is dedicated to advancing the field through collaboration and thought leadership.
Professor Andy Tatem, is a professor of Spatial Demography and Epidemiology at the University of Southampton. He is directory of the WorldPop project, developing methods to improve the accuracy of population distribution maps and health metrics globally. Prof. Tatem’s interdisciplinary work utilizes GIS and remote sensing technologies to address global health issues, including malaria and COVID-19 tracking.
Professor Craig Hutton is a Professor of Sustainability Science at the University of Southampton, where he focuses on environmental geography and sustainability assessments. His expertise lies in linking environmental changes to socio-economic dynamics via advanced geospatial analysis. Prof. Hutton applies his pioneering research in resilience and adaptation strategies to aid vulnerable communities affected by climate change
Dr. Gary Watmough is an Associate Professor at the University of Edinburgh, specializing in Earth observation and geospatial analysis with a focus on environmental and social applications. He leads the Geospatial Livelihoods Group which conducts research exploring socio-economic disparities through satellite imagery and had worked extensively on using Earth Observation data to
predict/estimate poverty projects in developing countries across Africa, South Asia, and the middleeast often working with international NGOs such as UNICEF, UN FAO, Save the Children.
