Dr. Izrael Zenar Bautista is a Supervising Science Research specialist at the Philippine Space Agency as part of the Space mission control and operations division. Their role is to manage Philippine ground stations and distribute space data needed by various Philippine institutions.
Dr. Bautista obtained his Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering, specializing in space engineering from Kyushu Institute of Technology and he obtained his Master of Science in Energy Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of the Philippines. His specialization in satellite engineering, ground station and satellite operations, and project management landed him the role of Project manager for the Philippine Space Agencies’ flagship project, the Multispectral Unit for Land Assessment or MULA project which they are developing with Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd.

With rapid urbanization, cities must integrate Earth Observation (EO) data, AI, and geospatial technologies for smart infrastructure planning, climate resilience, and sustainable land use management. This session will showcase EO’s role in heat island
