Martin Herkommer is a seasoned expert in geospatial technology and remote sensing, with over two decades of experience in aerial surveys, mapping, and sales leadership.
He holds a Master’s degree (Diplom) in Geography, Remote Sensing, and GIS from 1990 to 1996 and pursued academic research in remote sensing at the Catholic University of Eichstätt from 1996 to 1998. Following this, he completed pilot training in 1998, leading to a career as a freelancer in aerial surveys and mapping. For over a decade, he conducted photogrammetry, multispectral, and LiDAR surveys, managing mission planning, flight operations with his own aircraft, and full data processing.
Transitioning into sales leadership, Martin served as Head of Sales (EMEA) in the geospatial industry from 2010 to 2017, working with major brands such as Trimble, Omnistar, Stonex, Optech-Teledyne, MDL, TetraCam, and DynaNav. From 2017 to 2023, he was the Global Sales Manager at Quantum-Systems, a market leader in VTOL drone technology.
Since 2023, Martin has been the Head of Sales at OroraTech, driving the company’s vision of creating a global wildfire protection network using nano satellites. His extensive expertise in remote sensing and geospatial technology makes him a key leader in advancing OroraTech’s mission.
