DAVE: A STUDENT DESIGN, BUILD, TEST, AND FLY COTS BASED EARTH OBSERVATION PAYLOAD

Speaker: Ieuan Carney, University Of Surrey, United KingdomThe Universities of Surrey, Southampton, and Portsmouth are working collaboratively on a 6U CubeSat through their partnership in Space South Central with the aim to boost the joint space programmes of the universities. Part of this is a focus on providing students with hands-on training opportunities and the project is labelled as the Joint University Program for In-orbit Teaching, Education, and Research (JUPITER). A group of undergraduate and postgraduate students from each university are working collaboratively on an Earth observation payload for the first JUPITER satellite, Jovian-1.
