Speaker: Kristian Milenov, ASDE-ECOREGION, BulgariaThis study investigates the potential of certain annual products from the Copernicus Land Monitoring Service (CLMS) portfolio of the European Environmental Agency to provide consistent observations in support of the national monitoring of land changes in urban areas. The objective is to assess the compliance of management and investment activities with the requirements for the minimum share of urban green spaces in cities, tracked down using mandatory legal indicators. These indicators assess and reflect the capacity of urban ecosystems to provide regulating and cultural ecosystem services at the municipal level. The work focuses on two cities in Bulgaria: Sofia (the capital) and Ruse (a trans-border city within the Euro-region).
